- Data Transfer Module for RADAN software from
Pro-E and Solid Edge
Brief
This customized software solution is developed to
transfer data from Pro-E and Solid Edge CAD system
to RADAN software.
Key Features
- Seamless integration Other translation utilities
like IGES and STEP leads to data loss.
- User Friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI)
Conclusion
With this utility RADAN users can do CAD work in Pro-E
or Solid Edge software and transfer their files to
RADAN software to generate CAM data.
- CAD Customization in CATIA 4.2.2
Brief
One of the biggest ship-building major in Germany
wants to automate ship designing process along with
generation of manufacturing information from 3D CAD
design. They want to use highly sophisticated manufacturing
machines to automate entire ship building process.
The customized software solution written in CATIA
environment executes following tasks,
- It generates position numbers in 3D CAD model
- It converts 3D CAD model into 2D along with
manufacturing specific details as per specified
rules. (e.g. generation of position cross in corner
of sheet to facilitate welding machine to do automatic
welding)
- The bigger deck plate in 2D will again split
into various small plates for manufacturing.
- It generates to data for edge preparing machine
- It automatically identifies elements on deck,
which can be automatically transported and welded
at proper place.
- It automatically generates NC code from 2D
drawings.
- It generates Bill Of Material (BOM) which will
be linked with DB2 database.
Programming environment
CAD - CATIA 4.2.2 (AEC Version)
Ship Hull Design Module (SHD)
User Interface in CATIA - IUA (Interactive User Access)
Programming Language - C
Conclusion
Customer will be able to improve his manufacturing
capability and efficiency using customized software
tools. The production time is reduced to 40% from
conventional production line.
- Client - Pfaudler Balfour Reactor Systems, Scotland
- This project involved development of software applications
for the client, which enabled them to create and analyze
pressure vessels designed in Pro/ Engineer.
- Programs were written for automatic creation of
reactor vessels according user input requirements.
- This was written using Pro/Web-Link, the programming
environment within Pro/E.
