Working models: Technosoft has made deep study about the success and failures in the engineering outsourcing processes and zeroed in on recommended model called “Local Contact and Control” model ideally for customers located in high cost zones. The two models that Technosoft works are as follows:

 

  • Local Contact and Control Model:

    Involves Technosoft deputing a person on site on Time & Resource basis at the customer site. This person understands the product, manufacturing, assembly and other aspects of the customers business. He is then made responsible to package out the work and get it done from the center of excellence located in lower cost zone. He would also be responsible for the proper transmission of customer requirements to the execution team. He would interact closely with the customer and also perform all the necessary tasks to obtain the input information or validate them. This process ensures that Technosoft execution team would perform their activities without much impact of the cultural differences. During the initial start up period Technosoft can send a person capable of hands on work in addition to Project coordination. This would greatly help the customer utilize the time he is paying for. In the event that there is much work that needs to be performed locally at the customer end before sending work to a remote engineering office then the same on site person can perform this work as well. Similarly when there is a large volume of work to be carried out the entire time of the on site coordinator can be spent in Project Management and Coordination in order to get the bulk of the work done at a lower cost location. For even larger engagements the on site project management team can be further expanded to include more than one person. In this model the communication channel is always through the on site coordinator.


  • Remote Engineering Center Model:

    Technosoft has also been working successfully with customers with the remote engineering center model. In this model the customer does the necessary coordination for projects that are remotely executed in the center of excellence. The job has to be reasonably well documented and all the inputs must be clearly defined and transmitted. In this model the communication channel is directly from the customer’s coordinator to the Project Manager in the remote office (Often referred as the off shore Project Manager)
